I have a degree in Journalism from University of Damascus, Syria. I started with SOLA as a participant, and now I am a member of the Staff. I support different areas of activities and in particular Creative Calm therapy van, social media content and men’s sewing project. I enjoy being a part of a great working environment and a friendly community.

I’ve been involved in SOLA since it was set up on 2004.
My current role has several hats. I run the Transitions programme, social and welfare, develop capacity including supporting fundraising applications and finding external opportunities for participants for example. I work part-time and can often have flexible hours and when needed lend a volunteering hand on projects.

I have spent the last 17 years working in the voluntary sector with older people, adults with additional support needs and older people living with memory loss. I enjoy working within a community setting and getting out and about meeting new people. More recently I have spent a lot of time facilitating arts for wellbeing programmes as well as working therapeutically with adults.

Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
I’ve been involved with SOLA since 2014 as Supervisor and Psychotherapist. I currently work 1.5 days and volunteer half a day a week as Supervisor and Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist. My role involves supporting therapy programmer development, governance, Supervision, deliver therapy interventions and outreach programmers.

I have been working with SOLA as a volunteer in Accountancy and Administration. I have been a member of staff since early 2018 and am now supporting community engagement and finances. I am invested and committed to SOLA's vision.

Creative ESOL Tutor
Most of my ESOL work has involved developing creative outlets for learners. As part of this I've been involved in developing a magazine in Liverpool providing a voice and active roles for second language residents. I've always seen confidence building and creativity as the main focus of language learning and I'm happy to work with an organisation like SOLA who has these values at its core.

I have been involved in SOLA since 2013 first as a participant, then volunteer and Interpreter, then staff and now I am one of Trustees. I am also a Governor of a local primary school in Everton. I am really proud to be able to support SOLA and give back to a project that I have had direct support from. My roles at SOLA have helped me secure employment in the cultural sector.
Darren Guy
Social Media Coordinator & Mentor
I have 30 years of running my own businesses and 17 years delivering business advice; supporting the establishment of hundreds of small businesses and dozens of social enterprises. I have worked with SOLA on a number of projects around asylum seekers, refugees and people with mental health issues. My specific expertise is working with marginalised groups and individuals supporting them towards improving their situations, be it through activities of their choice

I have a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Syria; I worked for 19 years in Syria at the General Corporation for Grain Trade and Processing.
I joined SOLA in 2019 as a participant. I became a volunteer with the creative projects and I'm now a member of staff. I support family projects, cooking groups, planning and project admin. I also help with Arabic interpretation/ translation.

I found Sola Arts in 2018 as a trainee looking for personal therapy, and just recently have joined the team as a qualified Art Psychotherapist. I began at SOLA in 2023. I have mainly worked with children and young people and am passionate about helping them find their own strengths and resilience.

I have a background in Fine Art, environmental and participatory art. I have worked in youth, work and education for 20 years. I Initially came to SOLA to deliver a digital skills programme and have since worked on a wide range of projects.

I have been with SOLA since 2016. I initially volunteered at All In One Studio, supporting its development and creating this website. Additionally, I took part in various projects as a commissioned artist. I am passionate about combining technology and creativity to improve people's well-being and promote environmental sustainability.

Creative Coordinator & Projects Support
I have been volunteering with SOLA since 2017, assisting with social media and fundraising. Since July 2021 I have been working as a member of staff for 25 hours a week. My role includes working to facilitate the family playscheme, admin, art group and assisting on other programmes.
In addition I also still volunteer my time when needed.

I am co-founder of SOLA with Adele and over the years have dipped in and out of different supporting roles for the charity in its development, which has included support for social media and web-development and being a trustee. I am currently named Trustee Treasurer of SOLA .

I have over five year’s experience working with vulnerable people within the community. I’ve offered support with welfare benefits, housing, and other general advice which has helped improve people’s physical and mental wellbeing. At SOLA, I was a staff member support people on their integration journey and in 2023 I became a Trustee.

I have been involved in SOLA since 2018, first as a participant and since 2020 as a volunteer. l working in several areas such as childcare, family activities and finance. I am really proud to be a part of SOLA which always gives support to refugees. The act of giving generates happiness and l am happy that l am doing my best to contribute to delivering through the SOLA.
