Donations

There are several ways to support and invest in our activities;

> Direct donations

We are always extremely appreciative of any donations made by bank transfer, cash or cheque. We use donations towards making sure that our services and support are free of charge to those people who are most vulnerable in our communities.

Donations cover costs towards essential needs which can create barriers to engagement for our members such as;

Interpreting/Translation

Travel

Room hire

Childcare

Emergency support

Art materials

Food parcels, etc.

Larger donations contribute towards our core running costs.

> Gift Aid

If you are making a cash, bank transfer or cheque you could also add Gift Aid to your donation. This requests the government to increase the donation by 25% which is offset from your HMRC tax contributions annually through any tax paid as part of PAYE or Self-employed tax owing to HMRC.

This is at no extra cost to you and all you need is to be paying tax to HMRC in the year.

For example, if you donate £20 and complete the donation as eligible for Gift Aid, the government will contribute an additional £5 (25% of £20) and so the total donation comes to £25.

To add Gift Aid, you will need to either;

request a Gift Aid declaration and return it to us alongside of any donation OR

state your full name, address, date of birth and acceptance to add Gift Aid when making a donation.

> Community fundraising event

We are so grateful for any community fundraising that you may choose to do through your own enthusiasm for and investment in our offer to vulnerable people. For example one person raised £1,500 through a sponsored abseil and another raised £150 through a bucket collection at their student club night, and one person raised £850 speaking at a business networking fundraising event.

We are always happy to pop along to any fundraiser happening for SOLA and can even provide some info and artwork to add to the environment if you feel that would help share about what we do.

> Legacy donations and giving

We have been extremely lucky to have received several donations through legacy donations and gifting in the past few years. This has really touched us .  A charitable legacy is a gift that someone leaves to a charitable organisation in their Will. These are often one of the most effective ways to ensure that you can impact through a legacy of your life as part of our work.

Adding SOLA Arts in your Will is as simple as that.

A Solicitor or legal advisor can give you more information about how to name SOLA Arts in your Will.
