Shumon Farhad
Development Manager

I’ve been involved in SOLA since it was set up on 2004.
My current role has several hats. I run the Transitions programme, develop capacity including supporting fundraising applications and finding external opportunities for participants for example. I also coordinate the Art Therapy programmes. I work part-time and can often have flexible hours and when needed lend a volunteering hand on projects.
Karen Wynne
FESTIVAL 31 Curator/Coordinator
I’ve been working with SOLA since 2006, initially as Volunteer Co-ordinator, and later as community music leader and supporting a range of project delivery. Since 2015 I’ve acted as FESTIVAL31 Co-ordinator. I’m responsible for developing the festival programme and spreading the word about the festival across Merseyside communities. Every year we consolidate our relationships with established partners, and work to extend the impact of the festival by engaging new contributors, new partners and new beneficiaries.
Elisabeth Rene
Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
I’ve been involved with SOLA since 2014 as Supervisor and Psychotherapist. I currently work 1.5 days and volunteer half a day a week as Supervisor and Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist. My role involves supporting therapy programmer development, governance, Supervision, deliver therapy interventions and outreach programmers.

& Finance Officer
I have been working with SOLA as a volunteer in Accountancy and Administration. I have been a member of staff since early 2018 and am now supporting community engagement and finances.

Nesrin Yousef
Trustee, Community Engagement & Language Support Volunteer
I have been involved in SOLA since 2013 first as a participant, then volunteer and Interpreter, then staff and now I am one of 6 Trustees. I am also a Governor of a local primary school in Everton. I am really proud to be able to support SOLA and give back to a project that I have had direct support from. I still volunteer facilitating Family Playschemes, help with Language Support through Interpreting and Translation, Community Engagement and I currently work on the Family Programmers supporting refugee families through Art Therapy and Drama .
Darren Guy
Creative Development Coordinator
I have 30 years of running my own businesses and 17 years delivering business advice; supporting the establishment of hundreds of small businesses and dozens of social enterprises. i have worked with SOLA on a number of projects around asylum seekers, refugees and people with mental health issues. My specific expertise is working with marginilised groups and individuals supporting them towards improving their situations, be it through self-employment or other activities of their choice.
Carl Petersen

I am an experienced project manager within social welfare settings. I have considerable experience of social enterprise development and organisational design. I have a passionate belief in supporting marginalised people to empower themselves and positive changes in their own communities.
I am an eternal optimist and believe that living a life generously and sharing what I have is just the best way of making life better for everyone!
Ghena Al Kalash

I am from Syria and have been living in the UK since 2014. I worked as a teacher in Syria and I am currently Manager of Liverpool Arabic School which runs on weekends mainly. I am also a Parent School Governor. I have been working as a volunteer at SOLA for quite a few years now with refugees families supporting play schemes in the school holidays.
Laura Pullig
Creative Development Coordinator & Creative Skills Mentor
I started working with SOLA in 2017 tutoring digital skills as part of the ‘All in One Studio’ programme. Since then I have worked on the ‘Imagine-In’ project with young people and am now working on the ‘Creative Confidence’ project. I have a background in Art, teaching and in youth work and enjoy working with people.
Noel Urbain

I 've been volunteering at SOLA initially at All In One Studio supporting its development. In addition, I 've developed this website and volunteered within the FESTIVAL31 projects. As an experienced Art manager and Architect, I am passionate to bring a creative input into projects delivery.
Sarah Quinn
Art Psychotherapist
I’m an Art Psychotherapist and work most of my time in a CAMHS team. At SOLA, I provide Supervision and therapy interventions for programmers of support that come up out of normal working hours, to enhance delivery in Merseyside and reach out to people as much as we can.
Lee Omar
Trustee
I am co-founder of SOLA with Adele and over the years have dipped in and out of different supporting roles for the charity in its development, which has included support for social media and web-development and being a trustee. I am currently named Trustee Treasurer of SOLA .
